Sarah Agnew, Community Fundraiser at Julia’s House, was delighted to welcome the Provincial Grand Master, R.W.Bro. Michael James Leslie Whelan and his wife Sheila, together with the Provincial Grand Almoner, W.Bro. Chris Munden, and his wife Judy to Julia’s House hospice in Poole, and receive a cheque for £2,000.

£2,000 Donation to Julia’s House The donation, made on behalf of Portland Lodge No. 133 and Victory Lodge No. 690, is part of a Major Capital Grant of £1.3m to over 250 hospices in England, Wales, Channel Islands and Isle of Man, recognising the contribution made by HRH The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh to the service of the Crown and the life of the nation.

Julia’s House carries out essential work with children who have life-limiting and life-threatening conditions and their families across Dorset, supporting them at home, out and about in the community and at the hospice in Poole.

The Provincial Grand Master said, “The last 18 months has been particularly challenging for all charities, so we trust that this small donation will go some way to help support and maintain the vital service that Julia’s House provides in Dorset, caring for children with complex needs, and giving their families the respite they require”.

W.Bro. Chris and Judy were particularly pleased to be present, as they have been supporters of Julia’s House for many years, recently receiving their 15 year Long Service awards.
